The Dream Stretch Tent Wedding

If it’s unforgettable you’re after, there’s nothing quite like a wedding in the great outdoors followed by a wild and wonderful celebration under the stars. And there are loads of ways you can go about it – but if you’re getting married in the UK – anywhere from London to Loch Lomond, Hertfordshire and the Home Counties to the Highlands of Scotland – you’re definitely going to need protection from the Great British Weather, even if the big day’s at the height of summer. 

So here’s the big question… (No, not that one. Presumably one of you has already popped that one). We mean the question of what sort of tent cover to go for. And, given the location of this article, you probably won’t be all that surprised that we strongly advise you to forget about old-fashioned marquees and go for a stretch tent. Ok, yes, we’re biased. But that bias isn’t just based on what we admit is a passion for these gorgeous things. It’s based on a cold, clinical assessment of the evidence too!

We can assure you we really know what we’re talking about here. OK, we’re total stretch tent nuts – but with very good reasons. Among which are the fact that at our headquarters in the leafy Hertfordshire countryside, yet just half an hour from central London, we also organise weddings, festivals and corporate events – and naturally we use our stretch tents to make each and every one of those events a real occasion. 

There’s nothing particularly wrong with a marquee – if the small, gloomy village hall vibe is what you’re aiming for. They’re not very exciting are they… On the other hand, in our experience, engaged couples almost always fall in love with our stretch tents at first sight. They love their wide-open, welcoming vibe; they love their effortless elegance… They adore the suggestion of exotic, romantic, faraway lands… In short, our stretch tents are just so sexy it’s easy to get carried away.

The great thing is, though, that a stretch tent wedding isn’t just a flight of fancy. Yes, they look stunning – but they’re also incredibly versatile. Because they are, by definition, flexible and, well, stretchy, they’ll fit in perfectly with any setting, no matter how awkwardly shaped, even on sloping, stepped or tiered terrain.  And although that romantic Arabian Nights style conjures up thoughts of summer, they’re just as comfortable in winter – and with skirts, sides, doorways and even heating installed they’re totally weatherproof.
